CET Chews for dogs have all of the appeal and abrasive action as a rawhide treat, but have the added benefit of Chlorhexadine. This is an antiseptic substance that kills the harmful bacteria living in your pet's mouth, making it more beneficial than a regular chew. CET also makes a green dental treat that also contains Chlorhexadine.
We also have CET Chews for cats! A soft treat with a chewy wrapper, these contain the same bacteria-killing properties as the dog treats. They are avaliable in both a poultry flavor and a fish flavor that readily appeal to most cats.
The best thing that you can do for your pet's teeth is brush them as often as you can. Daily brushing can greatly improve the oral health of your companion, and lengthen the time before a dental cleaning is needed. It is important when you are brushing a dog or cat's teeth that you use a toothpaste that is safe and pleasant for them. We carry pet toothpaste in poultry and vanilla-mint flavor, as well as toothbrushes to fit your pet's mouth.
If you are getting a fresh start with your pet's teeth, such as if the adult teeth have just come in or we are performing a full cleaning, we can apply a product called Oravet. We would apply a sealant to the clean teeth at a spay, neuter, or dental procedure. When your pet goes home, we would send you a home kit, with which you would weekly apply a gel that sticks to the sealant to help prevent tartar accumulation.
