Spays and Neuters
Spaying or Neutering your cat or dog, especially while young, can have numerous benefits to both you and your pet. In addition to helping to prevent pet overpopulation, altering your pet can reduce roaming behavior, aggression, the likelihood of certain cancers, and completely eliminate the chance of an unwanted pregnancy.
The spay and neuter procedures are very safe, with quick recovery periods. Your pet will be dropped off for surgery in the morning, and ready to go home that evening. For most pets, they are acting completely normal by the next day. We can even use our laser to further reduce bleeding and pain! The day of surgery is also a great time to have your pet microchipped.
Did You Know?: All dogs and cats within Austin city limits must have a city license by law. If your pet is spayed or neutered, the fee is only $5, and you will never need to license that pet in Austin again (unless their rabies vaccine becomes overdue). Compare this with the $20 a year fee for intact pets!
